Friday, which means Photo-Match, more openings, Night of Photography at the Old Market Square and a party at Casablanca

Friday! The second opening day of the Fotofestival and just as rich in events as the first day. The program includes public presentations of photographic institutions and projects as part of Photo-Match, four vernissages and an evening at the Old Market Square together with Polowka – the Night of Photography: slideshows of the British Journal of Photography competition, Talents Futures 2024, PhMuseum and Krzysztof Ostrowski live. As icing on the cake, we propose a party at the legendary Casablanca.

Results of the Photographic Publication of the Year 2024

Traditionally – the opening of the Fotofestiwal is at the same time the announcement of the results of the competition for the Photographic Publication of the Year 2024. We congratulate the winners and winners, and thank the jury and partners for another edition of this important initiative for us and the environment.

Visit Lodz with Fotofestiwal

Every year we say that at Fotofestiwal you commune with art and… with Lodz. We build the festival map so that you can see locations that are often inaccessible on a daily basis, discover certain places anew. Now we are upping the ante and adding information about each of these places.

Bryte and 19 exhibitions – Fotofestiwal opening program

This Thursday (13.06) is the 23rd opening of Fotofestiwal – the International Festival of Photography. We will open as many as nineteen exhibitions, and the evening will be highlighted by a concert by Bryte – a unique personality combining the musical traditions of Ghana with the club scene of Great Britain.

SpinOFF is kicking off – 21 exhibitions in the city. Bownik, Fabjański, Kozyra

Believe it or not – Fotofestiwal is not everything. Believing that there is still a huge artistic potential in Lodz, we established SpinOFF Lodz. It is a sister brand – an umbrella promoting the most interesting urban and independent creative initiatives going on in Lodz in June. This coming Tuesday – the opening.

Music events at Fotofestiwal

This year’s music program will be inaugurated by Bryte, who raps and sings in five languages and various styles, and Laboratorio Tropical, a group promoting the club culture of the global South. The 23rd birthday of the Fotofestival at the Book Art Museum will be with the ear and eye pleasing duo Ikarvs, and Mentalcut and Tropical Basses. At the very end of the festival marathon – SILENCE.

“New home #Lodz” – photography workshop for teenagers and young people from Ukraine, Belarus and Poland

We encourage you to take part in the “New Home #Lodz” photography workshop! It is an opportunity for young people between the ages of 16 and 20 who have the experience of migration or displacement to express themselves through the art of photography. Registration is required for the workshop.

Photobooks from South America, Ukraine, Belarus and Dummy Award

This year’s Book Program includes four exhibitions, three premieres, a dozen meetings and presentations, and the Photographic Publication of the Year award. The exhibitions this year will be a wide cross-section of the scene from different parts of the world, such as Latin American countries, and at the same time proof that the nationality of a book can also exist beyond the borders of a country (an exhibition of Belarusian photography books).

Results of the Call for Photo-Match Portfolio Review

We are pleased to announce the list of 19 artists joining this year’s Fotofestiwal in Łódź and taking part in expert meetings at our industry event Photo-Match: Portfolio Review, happening on the 14th and 15th of June.

Shortlist for Photographic Publication of the Year 2024 competition

The jury of the Photographic Publication of the Year has selected a list of distinguished photography books that will be showcased during the festival in Lodz. The winner of the award will be announced at the opening ceremony in Art_Inkubator.

City Program announced!

Premieres of projects by Weronika Gesicka and Magda Hueckel, the return to the art scene of Przemek Dzienis and the completion of 13 years of Wełnicki’s work with the theme of death; an exhibition by prominent Lithuanian artist Dovilė Dagienė-Doda and one of Romania’s best-known visual artists Iosif Király – we announce the City Program.

Fotofestiwal calls for one of a kind Portfolio Review. After several successful editions we continue to develop our live and innovative formula in 2024. The submissions for this year’s PHOTO-MATCH: A Completely Different Portfolio Review are now open! If you would like to participate and introduce your work to our reviewers, submit the application until the 12th of May.
