Fotofestiwal program for the coming days
The opening of Jerzy Grzegorski’s exhibition, a meeting about artistic practices in the face of war, a screening of etudes by students of the Lodz Film School. Before we tell you about the next weekend of Fotofestiwal, read what we have prepared for you in the coming days.
On Monday at 6pm, we will meet on the Art_Inkubator stage to talk about artistic practices in the face of war. Invited guests will present their experiences of working in the context of conflict, systemic violence and traumatic experiences. Our guests will include Mohammed Almughanni (Palestine), Yulia Krivich (Ukraine) and Tomasz Szerszeń (Poland). During the event there will be a screening of the documentary film entitled: Shujayya (2015), directed by Mohammed Almughanni (20′). It is a poignant story about life in the Gaza Strip and a family affected by the consequences of the war.
On Tuesday, at 7:00 pm, the Urban Activity Factory at Tuwima 10 will host the opening of an exhibition presenting selected works by participants and attendees of a photography workshop for teenagers and young adults from Ukraine, Belarus and Poland, New Home #Lodz.
On Wednesday at 7:30 pm, we invite you back to Art_Inkubator for a screening of etudes by students of the Film School in Lodz. On the program: Once upon a time in Israel (dir. Weronika Szyma, 2021, 11′), There are people in the forest (dir. Szymon Ruczynski, 2023, 10′), The whale song (dir. Klaudia Folga, 2023, 27′), The creature (dir. Damian Kosowski, 2022, 20′).
This is not the end of the openings! On Friday at 19:00 we will meet at the East Gallery (Wschodnia 29/3) for the opening of Jerzy Grzegorski’s exhibition Impermanent Pleasures. We will see the latest works of the artist, one of the most important figures of the Polish and Lodz art scene, co-founder of Galeria Wschodnia – prepared especially for this edition of Fotofestiwal.
We would like to remind you that after the opening weekend, you can visit the exhibition at Art_Inkubator on Tymienieckiego 3 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
