Hermitage (2010)

The photos were taken in the monastery of the Camaldolese order in Cracow.
At this enclosed monastery, the monks live a contemplative life of solitude, silence and fasting .They start their day at 3.45am, and spend most of the time praying, meditating, and working.
The monastery is closed to women. The part of the monastery which is open to tourists can only be visited by women on a few days of the year.
I have tried to show the atmosphere of the place that has been a home for people devoted to spiritual matters for over 400 years.
