AW 2011 trends are the centre-piece of the 4th edition of Polish Fashion Week, which is to take place from the 4th till the 8th of May. Łódź will play host to numerous fashion personages who will have the chance to visit showrooms, participate in fashion shows and various accompanying events, such as fashion film festival.
This year’s Fashion Week is bound to attract crowds as fashion designers, clothing and accessory producers, buyers, press and guests have already confirmed their appearance. This year’s events, which are expected to attract around 2.000 guests each day, will fall into two categories – while certain attractions will be open to the public, others will be accessible only to those working in the fashion industry (prior registration at www.fashionweek.pl is mandatory/number of invitations limited). For a week, Łódź will turn into a fashion Mecca. Many clubs, restaurants, and other entertainment venues will cater for the needs of FW guests by special offers and customized menus.
Each Fashion Week is covered by at least 300 press and photo reporters from most prominent Polish and international fashion magazines; we will also be joined by Polish and international bloggers. The following guests, magazines, and organizations have already confirmed their appearance: Vogue, ELLE, Collezioni, and www.fashioncapital.co.uk. We will also play host to the representatives of “Who’s Next” Paris Fashion Fair, Lisbon Fashion Week, Lviv Fashion Week, Kiev Fashion Week, and Belarus Fashion Week. Traditionally we will be visited by agents from the IGEDO Company who represent designers during CPD fashion fairs in Dusseldorf, Istambul, and Moscow. International buyers (acting on behalf of investors) are also to take part in FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland.
In the entire history of Łódź, no other event has ever received so much media attention. We have received numerous awards such as “Elle Style Award” (Fashion event of 2009) and the title of “Event of the 2010” by the Aktivist magazine. We have also won the “Łódź Sukcesu” poll. Łódź itself has also received numerous awards – it won the „Twój Styl” award for the best city for its numerous events and festivals such as Fashion Week Poland, Łódź design, and Fotofestiwal. All catwalk shows and other major events will be covered by Fashion TV.
Each edition of Fashion Week Poland has received wide media attention also because of special guests it invites – in the past we have played host to numerous world-famous designers such as Kenzo Takada, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Georges Chakra, Gaspard Yurkievich, Dawid Tomaszewski, Nuno Gama, Thorbjorn Uldam, and Miguel Vieira. This time we will be joined by Diane Pernet, journalists from Italian Collezioni, Portuguese Vogue, ELLE, fashioncapital.co.uk.
We are going to host representatives of prestigious French fair Who’s Next, Fashion Weeks from Portugal, Ukraine and Belarus. Also IGEDO Company (responsible for fair-CPD Signatures in Dusseldorf, Stambul and Moscow).
