Stefaan van Biesen is a member and co-founder of the Milena principle, which organises art events all around Europe. Within the projects of the Milena principle, various international artists, writers, scientists come together and cooperate, create with a multi- and interdisciplinary attitude and reflect about the border crossing aspects of culture, art, science, ecology and health.
In his works, Stefaan van Biesen focuses on the question of how our thoughts manifest themselves via acts in our environment and to what extent they contribute to our well-being.
Stefaan van Biesen has been working for some years now on several parallel projects in his own country (Belgium) and in Europe: Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, the Chinese Modern Art Foundation, China, among others: an in situ photo installation Geist, Traveling spaces (prints of past performances in Europe), Library of Walks – photos as a homage to Caspar David Friedrich
