24.08.2020 Firt part of the festival is over

The first part of the festival is over. Thank you for your participation and trust, and for such a large attendance!

After 18 days, it’s time for a short break – just to meet you in October. Then we invite you to the opening of the last exhibition from the Main Program, i.e. The Burning House from the Antoine de Galbert Collection, at the Museum of Art in Łódź ms1. Selected city galleries will also be invited to accompanying exhibitions – in this we will open the building with a butterfly at 21 Sienkiewicza Street.

It was a unique edition during which, despite obstacles, we were also able to gain a lot of new knowledge and experiences. Our pride: Photo-Match, Different Kind of Portfolio Review, was held online in partnership with Krakow Photomonth. Thanks to this, we increased our reach and we met with artists and curators from many countries. We limited the number of events to focus on the exhibitions themselves – it paid off. Despite the unusual times, our exhibitions were visited by the same number of visitors as in previous years! Thank you so much for that! You can still see them in a virtual version on the subpages of individual exhibitions (W.M. Hunt’s exhibition coming soon!) here. We also changed some of our communication activities and based them on direct cooperation with creators and artists. Therefore, while waiting for the autumn part of the festival, we recommend returning to readings and broadcasts:

We held film screenings both in the auditorium (screenings of bad films in partnership with Pleśń), in the open air (in partnership with Polówka) and on the Internet (films by Magda Hueckel and Tomasz Śliwiński) – with a fundraiser for an important purpose. We returned to the tradition of photo walks, this time on the Hi Piotrkowska observation terrrasse, which invariably enjoyed great interest. We met over a cup of coffee with a photo books. As an organizer, we have gained new experience in the production of … sports competitions! Effect? This edition was unquestionably different than the previous ones and extremely unique!
