It’s two weeks to the festival opening, but Łódź is already starting to fill with photography thanks to local galleries and institutions.
From last week in the Museum of Textiles you can watch the group exhibition Threads and weaves. Today, in turn, we invite you to the Bałucka Gallery at 17:00, where Anna Orłowska will present the Carrying case project, on which she immortalized the interiors of castles and magnate palaces from various parts of Poland. This exhibition is supported by Fotofestiwal also because Anna Orłowska was chosen in 2018 as the Talent of the international Futures Platform.
Another opening is on June 6 – a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the national liberation theme present in the work of the members of Łódź Kaliska over 40 years. We invite you to the Art Propaganda Center for the Bards Parade.
A day later, the Academy of Fine Arts invites you to the interior for the presentation of the works of Jan Kazimierz Barnasia and Wojciech Kamerys, two university students for whom travels through Izreal and Kazakhstan have become an inspiration for creative work and a project entitled No Man’s Land.
On 8 June 7PM, the Wschodnia Gallery will open the exhibition of Three by Igor Omulecki, Jerzy Grzegorzewski and Arkadiusz Sylwestrowicz, and one and a half hour later, in the Portrait Studio, you can watch the work of Kuba Stepien. On the 11th of June, Agata Hejchman and the protégés of the community at the Osiedle community will invite you to the Odlot Gallery – artists and heroes of the Odlot project.
A day before the opening of the Festival in the Galeria Mała Czarna, the Academy of Fine Arts will open the exhibition of Adrian Jaszczak Genghisids, and on June 13 at 5 PM the Energy of Time – Veolia’s archive exhibition will open in the Science and Technology Center Ec1 – in the old thermal power plant we will see archival photographs by Wiktor Jekimenko and contemporary shots of the same places – their author is Stefan Brajter, a specialist in Lodz rephotography. During this year’s Fotofestiwalu they can be viewed in three dimensions.
