Which events do we recommend this week?
We are opening Fotofestiwal this Thursday at 7 p.m.! Come to Art_Inkubator at no.3 Tymienieckiego Street, where you are invited to see this year’s exhibitions for the very first time – both those related to the motif of collections (Self-portrait of the 20th Century, The Past is Yours! and iii’s & ooo’s) and those from the Open Program (former Grand Prix). We will be there for you until the end of the day, so you can also visit us at later hours – this will probably make it easier for you to contemplate the photographs without the need to wait due to the limitations in the number of visitors in exhibition rooms.
Starting on Friday morning, the same exhibitions plus the Some Bodies exhibition will be presented online, on our www. You will be offered a virtual tour of the especially arranged Art_Inkubator interiors, where you will see the photographs with descriptions and listen to the audio recordings made for you by the curators, collectors and artists. The link to an online tour will be displayed on 👉subpages of individual exhibitions.
Moreover, we will have a special guest in Łódź, namely Jean Marie-Donat, who will invite you to a guided our of his collection on Saturday, at 4 p.m. There will also be a guided tour of the Hungarian Fortepan collection – on Friday, at 4 p.m. See the full offer of guided tours of our exhibitions on 👉Timetable👈.
Apart from those main events, Fotofestiwal also comprises accompanying exhibitions organized by some galleries in Łódź. For a full list of accompanying exhibitions in August, go 👉here. On Friday evening make sure to visit the opening of the exhibitions in the very active Ogrodowa8 gallery and see the works by Ewa Ciechanowska, Artur Urbański and Allan Dransfield. Brace yourselves for a surprise: this night is going to be a feast for the enthusiasts of art and… table tennis. Remember to have your rackets with you! On Saturday, we are moving to the Book Art Museum (Muzeum Książki Artystycznej). After viewing Jaga Bieńkowa’s exhibition (opening at 5PM on Friday 7.08), you will see the special slide show of artists cooperating with Fotofestiwal as a part of the Futures Platform. In the exceptional garden of the former Ludwik Grohman’s Villa, especially composed audio-visual shows will be presented, by Agnieszka Sejud, Brave Boy Studio, Ela Polkowska, Masha Svyatogor and Marta Bogdańska.
For the fans of coffee and photo books, we are organising a meeting with the authors of the latest Polish publications: Adam and Dyba Lach, Katarzyna Sagatowska, Piotrek Zbierski and Bartek Talaga, Karolina Gembara an students of the Lodz Film School. Come to Art_Inkubator on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Next week, we will invite you to e.g. see the film shows and to revisit the exhibitions… and we will go on like that until October! See you!
