Rank Strangers

Rank Strangers is a body of documentary work taken around the United States that examines our modern preference for the marketed moment – for pleasure purveyed. I use medium format color film to record the hyper-saturated colors of these artificial constructs. Through the prism of fast-food consumption and leisure time in America, I dissect various cultural influences revealing the absurdity inherent when basing lifestyle choices under the influence of advertising. In the hustle of our lives, we are disoriented, distracted by the siren call of Madison Ave mythmakers. The characters depicted in Rank Strangers are lost, wandering in an interminable off-season, the festival is ongoing, but the party is over.
