SpinOFF is kicking off – 21 exhibitions in the city. Bownik, Fabjański, Kozyra
Believe it or not – Fotofestiwal is not everything. Believing that there is still a huge artistic potential in Lodz, we established SpinOFF Lodz. It is a sister brand – an umbrella promoting the most interesting urban and independent creative initiatives going on in Lodz in June. This coming Tuesday – the opening.
The size of the event has exceeded our founding expectations. The first edition of SpinOFF Fotofestiwal features 21 exhibitions. Some of the best-known artistic names featured include Katarzyna Bielska, Paweł Bownik, Dagmara Bugaj, Paweł Fabjański, Krzysztof Pijarski, Grzegorz Przyborek, Józef Robakowski, Michał Siarek, Bartłomiej Talaga – we will get to know all of these artists better through the Tizer exhibition curated by Kuba Szkudarek. It will be a perverse exhibition – why? See in the SpinOFF program.
The exhibition schedule also includes a trip through the city and its non-obvious locations. The creators will invite you, among others, to one of the largest tenement houses in Lodz – Mieczyslaw Pinkus Tenement House, where there will be a unique exhibition of paintings by Kalina Kazimierczak, curated by Katarzyna Kozyra. The initiative is joined by Ogrodowa8, Olimpus Gallery, Patio 2 Gallery, MSK Polesie, Mała Czarna Gallery, Wozownia Gallery, MEMO Mediateka, AOKZ Gallery. Art will also make its appearance in less obvious locations. The exhibition of the research circle “C41” of the Film School in Lodz will greet you at the Lodz Fabryczna Railway Station. Art will appear in club cafes such as Ignorantka, Niebostan and Piwoteka Narodowa, and will even wander into the MPK Loop at Michulski Square, There you will see an exhibition by second-year students of Photography and Multimedia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. At the other pole of the city – Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s and photographs by Wiktoria Bosc, curated by Agata Ubysz.
SpinOFF is also about workshops and concerts – one of them for the opening of the program and the exhibition What’s the point? by Mateusz Pecyna. We’ll see you on Tuesday (4.06) at 6pm at the Portrait Studio on Księży Młyn. DJ Coldfeet will play.
