Winners of the “Family Connections”
Six winners of the “Family Connections” competition have been announced. This is a project that we co-organized with the European Union and the EU NEIGHBOURS EAST program and which has just ended with a gala in Tbilisi, Georgia. The winners received cash prizes and statuettes.
18 photographers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine were shortlisted in the project for the prize. All of them were invited to the capital of Georgia, where workshops were held, lead by Karolina Gembara from Sputnik Photos, independent expert Arianna Rinaldo and Justyna Kociszewska from Fotofestiwal. At the gala, in the newly opened building of the Museum of Photography and Multimedia in Tbilisi, we met the winners of the competition:
- Nazik Armenakyan (Armenia)
- Orkhan Azimov (Azerbaijan)
- Pasha Kritchko (Belarus)
- Natela Grigalashvili (Georgia)
- Katerina Shosheva (Moldova)
- Marysia Myanovska (Ukraine)
The Fotofestiwal audience will be able to see Marysia Myanovska’s project “O brother, where are thou” in June during a special Talent Futures 2023 slideshow.
You can see all the awarded projects and details of this unique project that was designed to map, promote and animate the photographic environment from the six partner countries at: https://euneighbourseast.eu/photocontest/.
Cooperation with EU NEIGHBOURS EAST was another international project we had the pleasure to lead. Soon at the festival you will be able to see the results of others international activities such as the Futures platform associating 20 photographic institutions from Europe or with the Hungarian Fortepan platform and photography festivals from Belarus and Ukraine. Stay tuned!
