We announce the dates and first exhibition of 2024 edition!
We are pleased to invite you to Łódź between June 13 and 23. As every year, we will guarantee our audience over 30 exhibitions and several dozen events presenting the landscape of Polish and international photography. Today we are revealing the first exhibition in the Main Program.
Diego Moreno is a Mexican artist of the young generation who, before the age of 30, gained recognition on the international art scene. In 2016, he was recognized by the British Journal of Photography as a Name You Need to Know, and in 2022 his solo exhibition was presented at the prestigious Foam Amsterdam in the Talent of the Year section. He has had exhibitions on all continents, and his works have been published in magazines such as The Guardian and Vogue Italia.
The photographs used for our Save the Date campaign are works from the Moreno Malign Influence project. This is a series of graphic interventions on photos from the artist’s family archive. In this bold statement, full of distance and a sense of humor, Diego Moreno addresses the issues of the personal and social identity of an individual brought up in Catholic culture. Sounds familiar?
The next points of the program, details of which we will reveal in the coming months, are:
- as many as four premieres of the latest projects of Polish artists
- the first exhibition about photography for children in Poland
- Open Program, i.e. six projects selected by an international jury from among 1,200 projects from around the world (announcement on January 17)
- over 30 exhibitions showing a cross-section of Polish and world contemporary photography
- Photo-Match, i.e. a completely different portfolio review, concerts, workshops, film screenings and educational activities.
