Fotofestiwal 2023 Open Call finalists!
The Open Program, based on an Open Call, is an overview of current phenomena in photography. This year’s submissions had a very strong level of commitment. Majority of submitted projects raised universal questions and depicted fundamental social issues that emerged during recent years such as climate change, identity, family, anthropocene, war, gender equality, minorities and migration. Our Jury prepared a coherent and diverse selection.
From among 1108 projects, the jury selected works by six artists:
➔ Santiago Escobar-Jaramillo – “El pez muere por la boca / The Fish Dies By Its Mouth” / Colombia
➔ Chloé Milos Azzopardi – “Écosystèmes” / France
➔ Agnieszka Sejud – “Mimesis” / Poland
➔ Ngadi Smart – “Wata Na Life” / Sierra Leone/UK
➔ Gabriele Cecconi – “TiàWùK” / Italy
➔ Io Sivertsen – “Growing pains, thoughts on the climate crisis” / Norway
CONGRATULATIONS! You’ll be able to see their work during the upcoming Fotofestiwal – between 15-25.06.2023 in Lodz, Poland. We would like to thank everyone who submitted their applications for the opportunity to see their projects. The selection process was difficult and complex.
We would like to address a special thanks to the Jury:
