Festival opening program
This Thursday, 15.06 at Art_Inkubator marks the 22nd opening of Fotofestiwal, the International Festival of Photography. Eight exhibitions: five from the Hope Program, six from the Open Program, as well as the exhibition Area: Warhol, Basquiat and Co. in the lens of Volker Hinz, and a guest group exhibition of Film School students – #Now.
We start at 7:00 p.m. at Tymienieckiego 3. In addition to the opening of exhibitions – the announcement of the results for the Photographic Publication of the Year, as well as a rich musical program.

Exhibition Area. Warhol, Basquiat and Co. in the lens of Volker Hinz will be accompanied by a special DJ set by Avtomat – queer composer, music producer, DJ and vocalist, part of the Ciężki Brokat collective that supports the LGBTQ+ scene, Polish ambassador of Keychange and resident of SHAPE Platform 2021. With his music, he has already had the opportunity to perform at festivals such as Unsound, CTM, Schiev, Up To Date, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Les Siestes Electroniques and Audioriver and in clubs abroad, including the legendary Berghain, and has recorded mixes for global media such as Resident Advisor, DJ Mag and CRACK.
The opening concert will be played by LUA PRETA – a duo consisting of Angolan-born singer/ MC Ms. Gia and Polish DJ and producer Mentalcut. Together they create a blend of modern electronic music and African genres such as kuduro and afrohouse. Their fresh and unique sound has seen them perform at some of the biggest European festivals
Agnieszka Obszanska – cultural journalist. From 2007 to 2020 she was associated with Program III of the Polish Radio. Reporter and author of programs including: daily service “Teren Kultura” about cultural events in Poland and around the world, as well as co-author of the “Radio House of Culture” program. After leaving Radio Three, she has been hosting her own program on culture “Areas” and “Fikando” with club-electronic music on Radio 357 since 2021. She also works with sound creating sound design, podcasts, installations and radio plays, often based on self-recorded field sounds.
