The theme of a lost or never found home resounds in our geographical and temporal space. Our history of now is woven from stories about life in a transit home that retains the features of a liminal and patchwork identity, about struggling to find and return to a house that is inaccessible and unsafe, or about realizing that the home we live in no longer belongs to us.
We cannot always and simply be at home and remain human. Both require conscious and responsible personal effort. When we are overwhelmed with sorrow and homesickness, we are reminded that it is time to try to be human and to redeem our home.
