During the deepening cultural globalization, including de-territorialization, an analogous phenomenon is usually the need for identification and identity determination.
In the field of art, a significant form of nurturing locality is the cooperation of artists connected with a given idea, place or discipline, as in the case of artists meeting at a joint exhibition Digital Images as part of the Reincarnation event.
Although the pretext for this cooperation is the 20th edition of the Łódź Fotofestiwal, it is not the first time that artists connected with Łódź have come together in creative work. Especially, these nine authors of the Digital Images exhibition can be identified with the Łódź avant-garde groups that paid tribute to reality, such as Jung Jidysz and later the Warsztat Formy Filmowej (Film Form Workshop), whose members not only co-created in Łódź, but also searched for new phenomena in art.
The collection of digital images gathered in the exhibition is a cognitive journey deep into the term itself, from the mental digital image, through its multi-factor analysis, to the one generated live. Almost all of them are connected to the Łódź Film School, that is they are experienced in working with the real image. Now, they digitize it or create it again digitally in various ways.
