Fotofestiwal program for the upcoming week
The opening of two more exhibitions, several guided tours dedicated to teens, families and school groups, and a very special tour delving into the rich history of the Biedermann’s Palace. We also have a panel discussion and a special night at Kino Utopia, featuring a live set and Taiwanese screenings. Before we tell you about the final weekend of Fotofestiwal, take a look at what we have prepared for you in the coming days.
GUIDED TOURS
Four specialized guided tours for school groups are already fully booked, but we have other opportunities up our sleeves for you! Hey Teens! returns this year with another edition of two guided tours. The first one starts this Wednesday, June 24th, at 5:00 PM at the Biedermann’s Palace. Spaces are limited, so sign up here if you want to learn more about Augustin Rebetez. For more information, check out our page. Next Sunday, the second tour will focus on Nikita Teryoshin’s and Carlos Alba’s projects at Art_Inkubator.
But this year we go beyond exhibitions — as a special treat for the end of the week, a curated route to the Biedermann’s Palace will reveal its magical interiors, the history of the Biedermann family, and its darkest secrets.
PANEL DISCUSSION
On Tuesday 23.06 at 6:00 PM, Fotofestiwal travels to the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center for the panel discussion Can we trust what we see in the media? to examine the mechanisms behind the creation and spread of fake news, image manipulation, and how media—including photography—shapes our perception of reality. This is an invitation to explore the vital role of reliable journalism in defending a democratic society.
OPENINGS
On Thursday 25.06 double opening program kicks off with Common Actions, 25 Years at Fuga Gallery — a conversation around the exhibitions of the Department of Photography as part of Fotofestiwal, held within the exhibition space of this year’s SpinOFF: Soft Evidence. Followed by An Evening with Bogdan Dziworski. At 6:30 PM we open the exhibition f/5.6; followed by a talk on photography and film screenings, at Charlie Cinema.
CINEMA, SWIMMING POOL AND TAIWAN
To wrap up the week, we invite you to a red-carpet night at the YMCA swimming pool for KINO UTOPIA! This special event features a double screening of two Taiwanese art films: The Subduction Zone – Our Suite de Danses and In Memory of Chinatown. Audiences will get a true sneak peek into Taiwan’s landscapes, cities, and sites of memory through the distinct lenses of their authors: Shake and Chen Chun-tien. To close out the night, the screenings will be followed by a captivating live audiovisual set by (ether o) Chia-Liang Lai and the mood is set. Join us at 8:00PM.

We would like to remind you that after the opening weekend, you can visit the exhibitions at Art_Inkubator from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and in the Biedermann’s Palace with different schedules according to the day of the week:
Monday 22.06: from 2.00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
