Panel discussion: Can we trust what we see in the media? (PL)
A meeting with Wojciech Grzędziński, Maciej Stanik, and Filip Ćwik; hosted by Justyna Dżbik-Kluge.
This discussion explores misinformation, image manipulation, and the role of media in the modern world.
The event expands upon the core concepts of the Good Conversation Center: Misinformation project, which focuses on strengthening the skills necessary to navigate today’s media landscape consciously. During the panel, participants will examine the mechanisms behind the creation and spread of fake news, image manipulation, and how media—including photography—shapes our perception of reality.
The conversation will also address the role of critical thinking, the responsibility of both content creators and consumers, and the vital importance of reliable journalism in a democratic society. The guests will share their professional experience working with information and imagery, demonstrating how to distinguish trustworthy sources from misleading ones.
An important element of the event will be a reflection on the emotional impact of media consumption—specifically the pressure it exerts on young audiences, as well as strategies for building psychological resilience and maintaining a healthy distance from digital content.
