E. Wedel joins Fotofestiwal in 2026

The Wedel brand joins the jubilee 25th edition of the International Festival of Photography in Łódź as its Main Sponsor. The partnership includes an exhibition designed to help artists spread their wings, a dedicated festival zone centered around the motto “slow is the new fast,” and Poland’s very first “Bird Disco.”

Bird Disco

One of the highlights of this year’s Fotofestiwal, proudly sponsored by Wedel, will be Bird Disco—a participatory and communal performance combining music and dance. The backbone of the show is a composition by Pasi Autio, a Finnish media artist, built entirely from the sounds of birdsong. The choreography was created by Saku Koistinen, who takes on the role of dancer-guide during each performance, inviting the audience to join in the fun.

Although Bird Disco is a spectacle filled with energy and joy, it touches upon critical issues: the loss of biodiversity and humanity’s unequal relationship with the ecosystem.

“An Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds” by Luke Stephenson

Under Wedel’s patronage, Schiller’s Passage (Pasaż Schillera) will host an outdoor exhibition of large-format photographs by Luke Stephenson titled An Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds. This exhibition serves as an invitation into a world that remains hidden to many: a place where bird breeding meets the competitive arena of show exhibitions.

Stephenson’s journey began with photographing budgerigars. His initial interest in the aesthetics of award-winning pigeon photography evolved into a deeper fascination with the world of show birds. The author was captivated not only by the sheer diversity of colors and forms but also by the dedicated community centered around these animals. Over the course of 15 years, he photographed specimens of extraordinary species and interviewed people who have often dedicated their entire lives to breeding and exhibiting birds.

Stephenson was born in Darlington, in the north-east of England. His work has been published on several occasions, including by The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Dazed & Confused, Foam, Art Review, and Wallpaper*.

Time Together Zone

Wedel will also create a unique Time Together Zone at Fotofestiwal—a space designed for encounters, conversation, and true presence. During the Festival’s opening weekend (Friday–Sunday), the zone will be located in the park of the Biedermann Palace.

“Time together” is a lesson in mindfulness and presence, helping to build relationships and combat loneliness. In a world full of stimuli and constant rush, Wedel reminds us of the immense value of stopping for just a moment—together, with pleasure.

Throughout the entire duration of the Festival, visitors will also be able to enjoy a 10% discount at the E.Wedel Chocolate Lounges (Pijalnia Czekolady E.Wedel) located in Manufaktura and on Piotrkowska Street.

Join us for the celebration of the 25th edition of Fotofestiwal that will take place from June 18th to 28th.
