This is the first film dedicated to Grzegorz Przyborek and his creative work. Together with the artist, we visit The National School of Photography in Arles and the region of Provence, which influenced Przyborek’s attitude towards photography. Afterwards, we move to Łódź and his atelier, where a series of artworks inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic is being created, and Bydgoszcz – to see one of Przyborek’s largest retrospective exhibitions. We get a chance to look at the photographs of one of the masters of Polish photography, as well as sketches and sculptures which he uses with great precision in the process of creating his impressive artworks, many a time challenging the viewer’s faith in their own cognitive power. The language of the film enters into dialogue with the vivid yet delicate aesthetics of Przyborek’s photography – it is an authorial essay, in which music, photography and… water are very significant. During the event, we will also have an opportunity to listen to prof. UAP Marianna Michałowska and prof. Ryszard K. Przybylski, specialists in contemporary culture and photography.
