About the film:
A group of friends decide to have a holiday trip to the North of Scandinavia. There, in a village that is cut off from the rest of the world, an ancient holiday associated with summer solstice is celebrated once in 90 years. The excursion to the 9 days’ long festival at first seems like a casual trip to the land where the sun never sets. However, the rituals celebrated in the idyllic scenery eventually take an unexpected and even more bizarre turn. Midsommar looks from its specific genre perspective at the dangerous nature of some communities known as cults. The film screening accompanies this year’s main programme of exhibitions called COMMUNITY.
