In the second festival center, OFF Piotrkowska, we will traditionaly see projects from the Grand Prix Fotofestiwal 2019 section. This year, an international jury selected works of six artists, including Simone Sapienza, Federico Clavarino and Tami Izko or Gloria Oyarzabal. As the event helmed by local patriots, Fotofestiwal provides its audience with a perfect opportunity to discover the city of Łódź anew. The exhibits will pop up in the refurbished, usually deserted spots along the Piotrkowska Street, in barred venues in OFF Piotrkowska – a local hotspot gathering rave reviews in the international media – as well as some of the new secret locations accommodating yet another portion of art shows, parties and special film screenings. Our urban highlight is this year unique building at 21 Sienkiewicza str., re-opened just for us by Łódź University. Three exhibitions (Paweł Jasczuk, Eas_tota – young photographers from East Poland, and Contemporary Portuguese Photography), a special party with slideshow and magical film screenings will take place in spaces that was recently captured in “Cold Winter” movie.Over twenty accompanying exhibitions will be orchestrated by local gallery spaces, which encourage you to delve even deeper into the urban landscape. Our partners include: Book Art Museum, Municipal Art Gallery, Punkt Odbioru Sztuki, Mała Czarna Gallery, ASP Piotrkowska 68, Wschodnia Gallery, Central Museum of Textiles, Portrait Studio, Wi-MA and Lokal.
As usual, the programme will be complemented by a series of workshops, photo-walks in the former factories, evening slideshows with live music, meetings and discussions held in the educational section, as well as professional evens, particularly Photo-Match – a completely different portfolio review, which has also a public part.
