In the archives of Veolia Energy Lodz, an extraordinary trace of the city's history has survived - photographs from the development and operation of the EC1 power plant, portraits of employees and views of the city from the 1920s and 1940s of XX century.
The author of the photographs is Wiktor Jekimenko, who with extraordinary precision documented the development of industrial Łódź. Photographs – for a long time unknown to anyone – have been found and presented for the first time within the framework of the International Photography Festival in Łódź in 2011. This time, we invite you to rediscover this extraordinary collection. The views of the old Łódź can be compared with contemporary shots – their author is Stefan Brajter, a specialist in Lodz refraction, who recreated the frames of Wiktor Jekimenka. During this year’s Fotofestiwalu refotografie can be viewed in three dimensions.
