Hania Rani and Sir John Akomfrah: An Extraordinary Encounter to Open the 25th Fotofestiwal

The concert-performance by Hania Rani and multimedia projections based on Sir John Akomfrah’s latest project Listening All Night To The Rain are a gift to audiences on the occasion of Fotofestiwal’s 25th anniversary.

On 18 June, at the historic Art Nouveau power station of Karol Wilhelm Scheibler — Łódź’s Fuzja — we will experience Sir John Akomfrah’s work, previously presented at the British Pavilion at the 60th Venice Art Biennale, accompanied by music composed by Hania Rani in response to this film. The project is supported by PKO Bank Polski.

Listening All Night To The Rain is an allegorical journey through history, touching on themes of exclusion and injustice. The film was created from archival footage complemented by contemporary sequences. From 19 to 24 June, over four days, the audio-visual installation will be open to the public as an exhibition.
