Parallel Open Call 2018 – New Artists and New Curators is now open. The selected artists and curators will be part of the second cycle of PARALLEL – European Photo Based Platform, starting in June 2018 and ending in September 2019.
The new artists and curators interested in taking part in the second cycle of PARALLEL have time until May 4th to send an application.

About Parallel Open Call 2018 – New Artists and New Curators
This call aim is to select 30 new artists working with photography and 8 new curators working with photography/new media/visual arts that will be participating in the PARALLEL Platform 2nd Cycle, which occurs between June 2018 and September 2019. If selected, you’ll be taking part in one of the most innovative creative processes going from scratch to the exhibition, alongside with 37 other artists and curators.
The jurors are looking for new artists and curators who fit the following definition:
Be in the early stage of her/his career; Show significant artistic potential; Be defined by artistic practice engaged with contemporary discourse; Have had no more than 2 individual and/or 3 collective exhibitions in a festival/museum // Have curated no more than 2/3 exhibitions in a festival/museum; Lack international exposure.
The call is open internationally to all new artists working with photography and curators working with photography/new media/visual arts who fit in the above-mentioned definition; Selection will be made paying attention to gender balance and diversity; There’s no specific theme.

The effects of first Parallel Platform Cycle will be exhibited during Fotofestiwal – International Festival of Photography in Łódź, between 21st of June and 1st of July in our festival center, Art_Inkubator. We will host curator Bruno Humberto who cooperates with Nuno Barrosa, Emanuel Cederqvist, Ida Nissen, Joshua Phillips, Morten Barkera and Thomas Wynne on conceptions of group exhibiton for our festival.
