Gintaras Česonis is the curator at Kaunas Photography Gallery and Residency and Publishing House, the associate professor at Vilnius Art academy, the head of Lithuania Photographers’ association.
Gintaras Česonis has graduated in Art History at the Vytautas Magnus University and studied photography in Kaunas photography school, Ecole Nationale de la Photographie in Arles. In 2009 he started working as a head of Lithuanian Photographers Association Kaunas department, where he successfully started gallery reconstruction, converting the gallery space to important national multifunctional center including education, residency and publishing activities.
Responsible for the Kaunas photography gallery and international art residencies program, has curated individual and group exhibitions, produced around 10 books of Lithuanian and foreign photographers. Since 2009 he does portfolio reviews at various local and international photography events. Since 2016 he works for Lithuanian Photographers’ association that has more important activities and coordinates gallery spaces around the country.
