More Than Just Observing the World – Meeting and conversation with Katy Barron and Gintaras Česonis at the Dorothy Bohm exhibition
More Than Just Observing the World: A Meeting and conversation with Katy Barron and Gintaras Česonis at the Dorothy Bohm exhibition
Dorothy Bohm is recognized as a master of 20th-century photography and is compared to Cartier-Bresson and Kertész. A selection of photographs from the artist’s rich body of work introduces the Polish audience to her sensitivity and specific way of framing reality. It also allows for reflection on fundamental questions not only for the medium of photography but also – more broadly – for contemporary visual culture. How do we look at and see the world? What is the meaning of humanist photography today? What does it mean and who needs it today? What remains for us after the masterful lessons of 20th-century photography titans like Dorothy Bohm?
A conversation with the eminent curators and connoisseurs of Dorothy Bohm’s work, Katy Barron (Director of Photo Oxford) and Gintaras Česonis (Director of Kaunas Photo Gallery), and moderated by Adam Mazur.
The meeting will be combined with a tour of the exhibition. More information on the exhibition: TUTAJ.
