SpinOFF 2026, when the CITY becomes a GALLERY
A call to action, a meeting place for artists, institutions, local activists, and anyone who wants to show their projects to a wide audience—that’s what SpinOFF is all about. For the third time, we are combining events and exhibitions under this common slogan. This year’s edition is special because it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Łódź Fotofestiwal.
“ SpinOFF was created out of a need to support grassroots artistic initiatives. In previous years, we have created dynamic events that surprised with their diversity and courage. This year, we want to go even further, opening up space not only for photography, but for all forms of contemporary art, music, performances, and activist activities,” explains Jacek Laube, coordinator of SpinOFF Fotofestiwal.
SELECTED PROJECTS WILL RECEIVE A SUPPORT THAT INCLUDES:
- Content and production consultations
- Platform communication and promotion (website, social media, printed materials)
- Financial support of up to PLN 4,000 gross for selected initiatives
There are no restrictions on the location, form, or structure of events. We invite galleries, clubs, studios, apartments, shops, parks, post-industrial spaces, and locations with potential. We are looking for unusual places and grassroots initiatives—the less obvious, the better. The only limitation is the lack of limitations. What matters is the desire to share art. Therefore, institutions, foundations, associations, as well as independent artists, local collectives, and people from outside the art world who have space and want to use it creatively are welcome.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
- March 16, 2026: project submission (location + concept + possibility of implementation in June)
- The curatorial team will select the submissions
- April 2, 2026: announcement of the selected projects
- May 1, 2026: the selected participants deliver promotional materials (photos, descriptions, links)
- June 3-14, 2026: vernissages and exhibition openings (schedule to be determined by the organizer).
- June 2026: exhibitions open to the Fotofestiwal audience throughout the month.
