FUTURES Platform

Futures is a European photography platform that pools the resources and talent programmes of leading photography institutions across Europe in order to increase the capacity, mobility and visibility of its selected artists. By bringing together a wealth of resources and curatorial expertise, each talent selected by the Futures members gains access to an unprecedented network of professionals, markets and audiences.

Futures is an initiative of the European Photography Platform. At the moment the platform has 23 members: CAMERA (IT), FOMU (BE), Fotofestiwal Lodz (PL), Unseen Foundation (NL), PhotoIreland (IR), Photo Romania Festival (RO), Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center (HU), Odesa Photo Days Festival (UA), ISSP (LV), Organ Vida (HR), VOID (GR), Fotodok (NL), Copenhagen Photo Festival (DK), Photoforum Pasquart (CH), Der Greif (DE), Fotogalleriet (NO), Photo Elysée (FR), Tbilisi Photo Festival (GE), Centre Photographique Rouen Normandie (FR), Biennial of Photography in Porto (PT), Fotograf Zone (CZ), and Triennial of Photography Hamburg (DE). The platform will recruit new members every year from countries around the world. Futures is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

Every year, Futures organizes a series of events across Europe within each of its member countries – to promote artists invited each year for collaboration. Each year each partner nominates 5 artists to participate in educational and networking events, and their work is promoted internationally. And every year the larger group – members and invited artists – are all brought together at the Futures event at Unseen Amsterdam.

As part of Futures membership, Fotofestiwal organizes artistic residencies, curates with new programs and implements local projects as part of Fotofestiwal. Fotofestiwal has been a founding member of the platform.
