The \u201eINSIDE INSECT\u201d project is a personal research about the work, construction and representation of the symbolic universe of the filmmaker Luis Bu\u00f1uel. Inside Insect<\/em> updates the figure of Luis Bu\u00f1uel through contemporary artistic perspectives and explores the use and function of images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project follows Bu\u00f1uel\u2019s footprints through various territories, generating a new value for found objects and archival documents such as letters, postcards, degraded photographs, maps and texts. The project plays with sign systems and photographic representations, deconstructing a preexisting narrative by deliberately mixing reality and fiction, that is, past and present myth and reality. It relates private images with constructed ones and simulations. The project takes the form of a photographic essay comprised of photographs and archive materials, either altered or presented as such, establishing tensions, dialogues, overlapping relations, echoes or resonances of all these elements, shown as a cluster or constellation of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jorge Fuembuena <\/strong>(Zaragoza, 1979) Fellow artist of La Casa de Vel\u00e1zquez. He has participated in the prestigious international program Plat(t)form Fotomuseum Winterthur (Switzerland), and has presented his work in exhibitions at festivals such as the International Festival of Photography Photoespa\u00f1a, Athens Photo Festival (Greece), Arles Voies Off (France),  Kaunas Photo  (Lithuania), Paraty Em Foco (Brazil), International Festival of Photography Pingyao (China), Encontros Da Imagem (Braga, Portugal), Photo Zurich (Switzerland),  Bitume Photofest  (Lecce, Italy), Getty Images Gallery ( London) or FLORA Ars and Natura (Colombia). Selected in the Austro Sino Arts Program project exhibition (Beijing, China), his work is shown in Biennials such as the Triennale di Milano, the Thessaloniki Biennale (Greece), the Casablanca Biennale  and Fotoseptiembre 2011 (CCEMEX. Mexico D.F.). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 His work has been selected for the publication \u201eContexto Cr\u00edtico: Fotograf\u00eda espa\u00f1ola del s. XXI\u201d (EXIT, 2013), and also for the publication \u201eNEW SPANISH PHOTOGRAPHY, Visions beyond borders\u201d (New York and Washington, 2014). Jes\u00fas Mico selected him in 2017 for the exhibition \u201eReciente Fotograf\u00eda de autor en Espa\u00f1a, un cierto panorama\u201d. He was included in the book The A-Z of Spanish Photographers (La F\u00e1brica, 2015). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has also exhibited in International Art Fairs such as Paris Photo, ARCO, Just X Lisboa, The Solo Project Art Basel, Pulse Miami and he is currently represented by Galerie Frey (Vienna. Austria), Antonella Cattani (Bolzano, Italy),  Max Estrella (Madrid), Addaya Art Contemporani (Mallorca), La Casa Amarilla (Zaragoza), MataderoMadrid and by the Plainpicture international agency, based in New York, Paris, London and Hamburg.
