Can good people become bad? What circumstances can make them change in this way? Who can provoke that?

I am asking these questions to reflect on whether evil is in our genes, or is it born under the influence of an external impulse. Do we ever consciously choose the wrong side, the side of evil? Or maybe we are simple born on the other side of the border, where we are slowly and imperceptibly pulled into the cogs of a speeding propaganda machine?

Is a hate machine working this time, seventy-six years after World War II ended, on our side of the border?

Life is like a movie. We play different roles in it and often we are made to play them by someone else. Evil and hatred do not always grow in us on their own. It is up to our decision and self-consciousness whether we allow ourselves to be cast as villans, or we write our own script.
