Jiří Ptáček (b. 1975) works as a curator, art critic and pedagogue. From 2012 to the present day, he´s curator of the Fotograf Gallery in Prague. Together with Michal Vavrečka, he´s also behind the dramaturgy of the Měsíc ve dne Gallery in České Budějovice. In the past he was editor-in-chief of Umělec Magazine, curator of the NoD Gallery in Prague and the Gallery of Young Artists in Brno. Together with Jesper Alvaer, he led Department of Video at Faculty of Fine Arts BUT in Brno. He is the winner of the Věra Jirousová Award for art criticism (2015), and founding member of the Skutek Association, representing interests of the art scene in the Czech Republic.
