The Royal Sugars (2010/2011)

A series of portraits that criticizes the overindulgent habits of many American citizens. Each model showcases a type of candy that represents the shallow luxuries that many Americans are not willing to earn through hard work anymore, but see as an automatic benefit of being an American. The stylized portraits evoke less than desirable emotions such as sullenness, uneasiness, anger, and dangerous lust; reminding viewers that overindulgence is not only unnecessary, but also destructive to the human spirit.
